This is the transcript of the poster I published with the previous blog article from August 7th.

Why I Support Obama-

1. For 30 years I’ve heard politicians talking about health care reform, and he’s the first one to do something about it. The Affordable Care Act removes restrictions on pre-existing conditions, makes health care more affordable for small businesses, raises the age at which children can be on their parents’ policies, removes lifetime caps, and more. With the possible exception of insurance execs, who would not want these changes?

2. He ended the war in Iraq, and is drawing the war in Afghanistan to a close. Like he said he would.

3. He thinks women should have access to free preventative healthcare. Why is this still an issue?

4. He believes in equality for all people and signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to help women get equal pay for equal work and the repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

5. He is promoting and investing in clean energy jobs. Finally.

6. He supports education by giving more flexibility to No Child Left Behind (thank you!) and by making college aid more available.

7. He thinks millionaires and billionaires should pay their fair share of taxes like the rest of us. Really, this is a no brainer.

8. Despite inheriting one of the worst economic messes since the Great Depression, he added 2.6 million private sector jobs to our economy, and indications are that the economy is slowly improving. To anyone who thinks it’s been too slow – don’t you know you can’t turn the Titanic around in a day?

I voted for him before and I will vote for him again.

Everyone has their own reasons for supporting the President’s re-election. And all of us at Obama Watches each have our own reasons. And certainly, to be fair and transparent, there are many who support an opposing point of view. But, Hell, let the latter get their own blog. I don’t see them selling any watches, do you?

My support goes beyond selling presidential watches

I thought this poster was one person’s excellent explanation of why she supports President Obama. I don’t know name of the person who created it. If any of my Readers known where it originated from, please let me know. I will check it out and post it on this blog.

Or better yet, add your own comments. Leaving a comment helps me out because Google gives credit the more a blog is linked to. The more credit, the more traffic. The more traffic, hell, you can figure that one out.

So here’s the poster I am proud to repost:

When we last left the playing field scoring accomplishments between the two Presidential candidates, it was President Obama: 10 and Romney 0. I’ve been thinking about that, and to be fair, Romney deserves to score one in the accomplishments column for the successful running of the Olympics in Utah.

Now let’s see, are there any other accomplishments I can list for Romney?

Anyone? Anyone?

Yes, you in the back? Bain Capital? Well, yes, it was a success for him but we’re looking for accomplishments that go beyond what someone did for themselves. A President who just looked out for himself wouldn’t be a very good President, now would he?

All right, it seems there are no more accomplishments we can list for Romney. Now let’s see if we can find more accomplishments for Obama. It could be tough. You know, many Republicans think Obama hasn’t accomplishment anything. And they should know, because they’re blocked every Obama proposal in the Senate even if it might have been a good bill for America.

Here are 10 more accomplishments for President Obama. All are documented so you can check them out

11. Created the post of Chief Performance Officer, whose job it is to make operations more efficient to save the federal government money.

12. On his first full day as President, he froze White House salaries.

13. He committed to phasing out unnecessary and outdated weapons systems, and also signed the Weapons Systems Acquisition Reform Act to stop waste, fraud and abuse in the defense procurement and contracting system.

14. He completed the massive TARP financial and banking rescue plan, and recovered virtually all of its costs.

15. He created the Making Home Affordable home refinancing plan for beleaguered homeowners.

16. He oversaw a bailout of General Motors that saved at least 1.4 million jobs, and put pressure on the company to change its practices, resulting in GM returning to its place as the top car company in the world.

17. He signed the Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act giving  the federal government more tools to investigate and prosecute fraud in every corner of the financial system. It also created a bipartisan Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission to investigate the financial fraud that led to the economic meltdown.

18. He signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act, designed to protect consumers from unfair and deceptive credit card practices.

19. He initiated a $15 billion plan designed to encourage increased lending to small businesses.

20. He dismantled the Minerals Management Service, thereby moving forward to cut ties between energy companies and the government.

So if we tally up today’s scores, it’s Obama 20 accomplishments and Romney 1, but it is still anybody’s race  to win. Why, if there were just another 19 more Olympics in Utah, it would be a Hell of a lot closer.

Therefore, I must conclude:

The best man for President of the United States is the President of the United States.

The Party of No! would have you believe that Barack Obama has been the worst President in American history! That he’s ruined America! That secretly hates the US.

Truth is, Obama’s been a good President in a terrible economic and dangerous time. I didn’t say he’s been great. The Republicans would never allow that. But against all odds, inheriting what he did, and with The Party of No! blocking his every move, he’s been strong, courageous, fair, intelligent, and even productive.

Am I satisfied with the American economy? Of course not. But The Party of NO! filibustered President Obama’s Jobs Act in the Senate, even though several independent economic analysts estimated the Jobs Bill would increase the GDP 1-3%.

Here are 10 Things President Obama Has Done. Can you Name three of Romney’s Accomplishments

1. Legislative Prowess
Despite the characterizations of some, Obama’s success rate in winning congressional votes on issues was an unprecedented 96.7% for his first year in office.  Though he is often cited as superior to Obama, President Lyndon Johnson’s success rate in 1965 was only 93%.

2. Fiscal Responsibility
Within days after taking office, he signed an Executive Order ordering an audit of government contracts, and combating waste and abuse.

3. Improving the Economy, Preventing Depression
He pushed through and signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, otherwise known as “the stimulus package,” despite the fact that not one Republican voted for that bill. In addition, he launched recovery.gov so that taxpayers could track spending from the Act.   

4. Wall Street Reforms and Consumer Protection
Ordered 65 executives who took bailout money to cut their own pay until they paid back all bailout money.

5. Anti-Discrimination
He advocated for and signed the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which made it a federal crime to assault anyone based on his or her sexual orientation or gender identity.

6. Civil Rights
He pushed through, signed and demanded the Pentagon enact a repeal of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy that forced soldiers to lie to fight for their country, and put our troops at risk by disqualifying many qualified soldiers from helping.

7. Fighting Poverty
He provided a $20 billion increase for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps). http://nyti.ms/gfLqyM

8. Improved Foreign Relations and American Status Abroad
He visited more countries and met with more world leaders than any previous president during his first six months in office.

9. Defense
He took steps to severely weaken al Qaeda and limited their ability to terrorize the world.

10. Treated  Soldiers with Respect
He made sure that families of fallen soldiers could be on hand when the body arrives at Dover AFB, by providing funding for it.  He also ended the media blackout on coverage of the return of fallen soldiers.

I’m sorry. I interrupted you. Were you going to list some of Romney’s accomplishments? All right, while you’re thinking about it.

It’s true! George Bush endorses Obama Presidential Watches! Yes, THAT George Bush! The one who used to live in a White House. The same George Bush who endorsed Obama Watches in the 2008 campaign.

Now we know there might be some confusion since George Bush is a relatively common name. That’s why we want to assure you that we’re talking about the George Bush who lives in a white house in Belvidere, NJ. Not that other George Bush he’s sometimes confused with.

Our George Bush didn’t screw up the economy. He’s too smart for that. That’s why he protects his own economy by capturing rainwater in a barrel in his backyard. He recycles that rainwater for use in his own house.

Back in 2008, the George Bush we contacted agreed that, “It’s time for a change.” We haven’t spoken to him recently, but we hope he’s changed his tune because now that Obama has been in office for almost four years, we think “It’s not time for a change.” Unless, of course, you’re talking about changing Congress to give the majority in the House back to the Democrats. That would certainly help President Obama get through the kind of legislation we need to turn the economy around and put through the kind of progressive plan that would help America get back on track.

While we’re at it, we’d also like to thank the many grass roots groups who support President Obama’s re-election and Democrats across AMerica. We’re proud that instead of having the support of political fat cats like the Party of No!, we support real grass roots organizations like Get Out Dem Votes, who’ve done an excellent job supporting Democratic candidates!

President Obama is fortunate to have groups like Get Out Dem Votes support his re-election. And Obama Watches is fortunate to had THIS George Bush support their effort to re-elect President Obama.

I’m pretty sure President Obama has the five Obama for President watches I gave him in 2008 in a shoebox under his bed in the White House.

I really did give Barack Obama 5 presidential watches. I had been selling Obama for President Watches online in 2008 and one day I got a call from a member of the Democratic National Committee asking me if I’d like to give Senator Obama one my watches. They told me they wanted me to give it to him at a fundraiser in Philadelphia.

On a hot July night, I was in a room with 35-45 people who had donated $40,000 each, or $80,000 a couple, to meet and great candidate Obama in a private setting.

Me? I was donating 5 Obama Presidential Watches. In cheesy gold boxes.

The “$40,000 a handshake” crowd and I were ushered into a private room. Candidate Obama arrived about half an hour late. We had been grouped in a circles and Candidate Obama worked the crowd, shaking hands, but not staying more than 20-30 seconds chatting with any person or couple.

When he got to me, I went to hand him 5 really cool Obama for President watches, including, my favorite at that time, the “Love Your Mama. Vote Obama.” watch.

Before I could hand the watches to Senator Obama, the Secret Service grabbed them out of my hands and took them into another room. They emerged 10 minutes later, handing the 5 Obama Watches to an Obama aide.

A serious looking Secret Service guy wearing sun glasses walked over to me, smiled very briefly, then winked at me and said, “Pretty cool watches.”

I’m pretty sure President Obama keeps the 5 Obama watches I gave him in a shoebox under his bed in the White House. I hope he doesn’t use my coupon code to save money on my 2010 Collection of Obama Watches. But if he does, I will honor it.

The Republicans are right that the main issue in the 2012 Presidential Election is the economy. But what they aren’t telling the American people is that they’ve fought the President’s proposals on the economy for 4 years now, even though doing nothing was worse that doing something. They were even willing to let the American automobile industry go bankrupt, rather than rev up the economy

The President proposed a plan to help with the housing and mortgage crisis. The Party of No said, “No.”  The President proposed adding millions of jobs by rebuilding America’s fragile infrastructure. The Party of No said, “No.”

Recently, the President proposed using the half of the billions of dollars we weren’t going to have to spend on the War in Iraq to prop up our fragile economy.  The Party once again said, “No.”

It makes you wonder what the Party of No would say “Yes.” You think if I offered them a discount on Obama Watches, they’d say “No?” Heck, they’d probably say “Yes” to that. There is still much that needs to be done in America regarding our economy. But to give the reins of government back to the Party whose policies helped sink the American economy would be a tragic mistake. On Tuesday, November 6, Democrats, independents and even fair-minded Republicans should put America first and vote to re-elect President Barack Obama, telling the Party of No, “No!”

President Obama is committed to keeping the sacred trust we hold with members of our nation’s all-volunteer military. The President has fought to expand and improve benefits for veterans and their families—from access to the health care they need to the education and job opportunities they deserve when they return home.

President Obama fulfilled his promise to responsibly and safely bring our troops home from Iraq, and is making sure returning service members have the support they need.

As recently as July 19, President Obama spoke about the threat of cyber security in an op ed piece in the Wall Street Journal. I’m glad President Obama understands that that threat to America’s business and personal lives is real and ever-present.

As much as we are a profit-making business, we also support Obama’s candidacy because we believe that the best man for President of the United Sates is the President of the United States. 

From Day One, the Republican Congress had a singular agenda: Fight everything the President proposed, even if it was for the good of the country.

At every turn, Republicans used their Majority in the House to ensure that nothing the President sought for America ever saw the light of day. There has never been such unilateral opposition to a President from an opposing party in our history.
