It’s true. The President Lost the First Debate to Pinocchio!

Jiminy Cricket, Matt Romney sure told a lot of fibs, whoppers and outright lies in the first Presidential Debate of 2012! I saw the Governor’s nose grow at least 10 times. Now, that wouldn’t be such a problem if undecided voters could see through the cloud of lies Romney deftly threw at the President and the American public.

So in an effort to set the record straight, here’s a rundown of what Pinocchio said. And what the TRUTH really is.
Pinocchio said, “I don’t have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don’t have a tax cut of a scale that you’re talking about.”
Here’s the truth. The non-partisan Tax Policy Center calculated the cost of Romney’s tax cut proposal at $5 trillion.
According to Pinocchio, “Obamacare puts in place an unelected board that’s going to tell people ultimately what kind of treatments they can have.”
Oppps. That’s a a lie! According to the Associated Press, the board tasked with bringing down Medicare costs is “prohibited from dictating to doctors what treatments they can prescribe.”
Pinocchio claimed to have a successful, bipartisan record working with Democrats when he was Governor of Massachusetts.Massachusetts.
There’s goes that nose again! According to the Massachusetts Taxpayer Foundation’s Michael Widmer, the Democratic party was “frustrated” with Romney because “he wanted to govern like a ‘CEO.'” They didn’t think he was willing to compromise at all!

Another one of Pinocchio’s favorite attack lines is that “$716 billion was cut from Medicare because of the Affordable Care Act,” aka ObamaCare.
But what the $716 billion refers to is money that is saved “primarily through reducing over-payments to insurance companies under Medicare Advantage, not payments to beneficiaries! And the nose continues to grow!

Pinocchio said, “Gas prices have doubled since the President took office.” Now that’s actually TRUE, but Romney who is in the pocket of the big oil companies knows gas prices are set on financial exchanges around the world and are based on the price of crude oil, the amount of finished gasoline ready to be shipped and the capacity of refiners to make enough to meet market demand.
Pinocchio claimed health care costs have gone up $2500 per family since Obama became President. The Real Truth? According to  FactCheck.org, “The actual increase has been $1,700, most of which was absorbed by employers and only a small part of which is attributable to the heath care law.”

Finally, Pinocchio claimed he cared all all Americans. And that’s THE BIGGEST LIE OF ALL! If Romney, I mean Pinocchio, wins, it will be tax breaks for the rich on the backs of the middle class, businesses will run wild as regulations that have been protecting the American consumer will be written off the books. It will be the Bush era all over again. And the finacial policies that almost caused America to suffer a second Great Depression will once again threaten the financial stability of the US.
Don’t let Pinocchio get into the White House. On November 6, vote to re-elect President Obama.

Because the best man for President of the United Staates is the President of the United States. And that’s no lie!

    1. Hillary,

I’m going to assume you were calling Romney an idiot and not me. I think you’re doing a great job as Secretary of State. Jack
